"Are they triplets?" "No, I found the other one in the parking lot and thought, 'why not?'"

Want to know a good way to get punched in the face?

My week is nearly over.  I’m getting very excited about an upcoming trip to London/Burlington/Grimsby and anywhere else the day takes us.  Earlier in this week Ian  has been away for work.  He was away Monday to Friday or so I thought.  Thursday was a long day for me.  Isabelle had school, the twins and I had a few things to do during the day, then it was time to pick up Isabelle, get dinner ready and eaten earlier than normal because it was photos for soccer and then they had a game following.

Soccer has not been going well lately.  Madeline is refusing to play unless she gets to play in goal.  Aidan runs for a while and then gives up because he feels he’s not as fast as the other children.  Which I would agree because he mostly just stands still.  If he were to actually run, he does to a pretty good job of keeping up.  Isabelle at least has started to enjoy herself now that she understands the game a little better.  So there has been a lot of crying and refusal to play.

So today I hoped for a better day but was not overly optimistic.  They did a wonderful job getting their photos taken.  Once their game got underway they were very excited to see that they had some special spectators come to their game!  Thanks Grandpa and Grandma!!  They did their best and even refused to play a little but they managed to help their team win the game!!  It was our first win of the season!!  Hooray!

After the game we came home, kids changed into their jammies and then we had some cake to celebrate the win!  We also got a chance to talk to Daddy to share the news of our win!  He mentioned that he would have a surprise for the kids in the morning.  I was thinking to myself that this was not the best thing to say to the children when one is not home to give any kind of surprise.  We then went downstairs to watch a movie and have some popcorn.  Yes they were spoiled!  Every now and then we all need that.  After the movie it was off to bed.

I texted to Ian asking why on earth he would promise the kids a surprise when he wasn’t going to be home.  He asked me if I thought they would actually remember!  And of course they would, they were talking about it at bedtime.  I was exhausted, tidied up a little and went to bed myself.  I slept so soundly that I did not hear my phone go off around 12:30am with a text that Ian sent.  Nor did I hear the beep of the alarm when an exterior door opens.  The dog also did not flinch and inch and just lay sleeping on her pillow outside my bedroom door.

I did not hear anyone walk into my room either.  All I felt was the weight of a body pushing on mine and then someone kissing me on the cheek as I’m desperately trying to get out from under and get away and raising my arm to hit as hard as I could, until I realized it was Ian and he was laughing so hard.  Asshole!  Was what first came out of my mouth.

HUSBANDS!  THIS IS A VERY BAD IDEA!  ESPECIALLY WITH THE JOBS YOU HAVE, YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW OFTEN WE LAY AWAKE THINKING OF HOW WE ARE GOING TO FIGHT OFF AN INTRUDER AND SAVE OUR CHILDREN.  SNEAKING INTO YOUR OWN HOME AND SCARING THE SHIT OUT OF YOUR SLEEPING WIFE WILL ONLY END BADLY FOR YOU!!

After a period of time, I was then happy to have him home.  However he now must provide me with something shiny and with diamonds!!  He’s lucky I stopped sleeping with my Louisville Slugger beside my bed.
