"Are they triplets?" "No, I found the other one in the parking lot and thought, 'why not?'"

The plague has struck our home.  I’ve been sick for 3 days now and I am hopeful to be better by Sunday.  I was by far the hardest hit, then it was Isabelle, then Aidan and Maddy a tiny bit.  It started as a head cold and of course progressed into a chest infection of some type.  I am in a lot of pain from coughing so much.  I am coughing so much that it’s basically just a spasm and I don’t really need to cough.  I have found some relief sitting with my back against a heating pad and then sometimes I put it on my abs which are also extremely sore and tired from coughing.  Any ways, enough about me.

I can’t believe that Halloween is almost here.  As of today we don’t plan on taking the kids out.  They sort of get the idea of Halloween, but not enough that I really want to invest in costumes and going out to collect candy that we probably wouldn’t let them eat much of anyways.  I think next year will be the year.  Isabelle will be 4 and the twins will be 3 and it will be exciting for all of them.  The plan is to do what we did last year, turn out the lights, go upstairs and watch a movie and head to bed.

Isabelle has been doing well in her Highland dance class.  She actually had to miss this week’s class because she was sick.  I don’t think all the other moms there would appreciate me bringing Isabelle who was sneezing every 5 seconds to spread her germs to their kids.  She took the news of not going better than I thought she would.  I think it helped that Grandma E was here and the kids hadn’t seen her in about a month.

I wish I had more energy and could remember what has been going on in the last month, but this sickness has clouded my brain pretty good.  I’m off to take some more drugs and hope that this cold will go away soon……

Parenting and adulting is hard. There is no manual. No volume control. No self cleaning house and self refilling fridge. This is my story of navigating through the ups and downs of our crazy-wonderful life.
