"Are they triplets?" "No, I found the other one in the parking lot and thought, 'why not?'"

Time?

You all have no idea how many times I have tried to post over the last month! Seriously, I have started typing away when I think I’ve had a free moment and then someone needs something, a baby is crying, the phone is ringing, Isabelle is tormenting a dog, the dog wants out/in etc…
An example right now, the twins are snoozing in their swings and Isabelle is working on her lunch, well she has learned to toss her food on to the floor because the dogs will sneak in and eat it. So she and the dogs just got a stern “no” for the food tossing and for the being sneaky. Isabelle is now making her “grumpy” sound to a piece of grilled cheese sandwich. She started making these noises the other day in the hall mirror. She’d make a grumpy face and then add the sound to go with it and sort of play a game of peek a boo with herself making these faces and doing the sound.

All is well in the Diplock household. Our household effects have arrived from Tuk and from storage. The items from storage were the first to arrive and our things from Tuk came a few days later. I was surprised to have these things show up before the middle of July! As much as I wanted my things again, I hate the unpacking part. Unpacking is easy when it’s just you and your spouse or just you if you don’t have a spouse. But when you have a spouse who works full time, 3 kids under the age of two and two large dogs who think you might be trying to leave them behind in your house and you want to unpack, good luck.

My folks have been great, they have come out several times to Milton to try to help us get ahead. And while it probably doesn’t seem like we have gotten ahead or that they have helped much they have. We wouldn’t have been able to run out to all the major stores and buy things for the home, we wouldn’t have been able to manage the moving trucks showing up and unloading boxes all over the house and many other things.

I’m trying to line up some appointments for the dogs at a vet so hopefully the grandparents are free again. Honestly I don’t know how people have kids and don’t have help. We are very fortunate to have family who want to take part.

The house is coming a long. We maybe average 1 box a day. It’s hard, Ian works until 4pm but doesn’t get home on average until 630pm. We either rush to have dinner or just wait until the kids have gone to bed and then have dinner(930-1000pm) By then both of us can only think about bed, who wants to unpack when you know there is a 330am wake up call coming from the babies. Ian is hopefully going to get a day off this week and we will try to unpack a few boxes while he’s home. I’d like to do more during the day, but it’s hard to unpack when the kidlets are sleeping because opening the boxes and sorting out things from all the paper is rather loud and I’d rather the kids slept.

Well Isabelle is about to start throwing what’s left on her lunch on the floor becuase she’s finished and wants out of her chair. I’ll try my best to post again and give a status update on the twins. For now, they are both doing well, Madeline is still bigger than Aidan but he isn’t far behind. They are both quite social babies. They both “talk” a lot more than Isabelle ever did. I can’t wait to have them weighed again in about 2 weeks or so. I think I’ve found a family Dr that should work for us, but we can’t get in to meet with her until the 2nd of Aug.

Well I’m off as the sandwich pieces are hitting the floor, the babies are sleeping and she’s just getting louder!

Parenting and adulting is hard. There is no manual. No volume control. No self cleaning house and self refilling fridge. This is my story of navigating through the ups and downs of our crazy-wonderful life.
